Poultry farming

Poultry farming is done to increase the production of eggs as well as poultry meat.  That is why high quality hen breeds are developed in poultry farming.  Layer hens are reared for eggs and broilers are reared for meat.  New varieties are developed for the following characteristics.  Domestic such as Asil and exotic like Longhorn varieties are hybridized to create new varieties.

(i) Number and quality of chicks

(ii) Commercial production of their chicks by small broiler parents Purpose

(iii) Heat adaptation - Capacity  Ability to withstand high temperatures

(iv) Low cost of maintenance requirement

(v) The use of cheap fibrous feed obtained as a by-product or by-product of a product useful for farming reduces the size of the laying bird.

Egg and Broiler production

Egg and broiler production is a vitamin-rich diet for broiler chicks for good growth rate and good diet.  Care must be taken to keep their mortality rate low and maintain the quality of their wings and flesh.  They are produced in the form of broilers and raised for meat purposes.  Good management systems are essential to get a good product in poultry.  Under this, the quality of poultry feed is maintained by determining the proper temperature and hygiene in their habitat.  It also involves controlling and preventing diseases and pests.  The broiler's habitat, nutrition and environmental needs are somewhat different from those of laying hens.

The diet of  broilers is high in protein and fat.  Poultry diets are also high in Vitamin A and Vitamin K.  Bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites and malnutrition can cause many diseases in chickens.  Thus special care should be taken towards cleanliness and hygiene.  It requires regular spraying of disinfectants.  Chickens should be vaccinated to prevent infectious diseases so that they do not become infected.  Following these precautions reduces the spread of diseases.  Poultry suffers minimal damage.
